Pit Bull Who Slept On Concrete Floors For 8 Years Now Has Unlimited Beds
Lola’s life before she was saved could be summed up in one word: terrible.
The dog was tied up in a dark and dirty garage for eight years, spending her days resting on a concrete floor. She received little attention, no veterinary treatment, and was never taken off the leash.
When a lady discovered Lola, she contacted AMA Animal Rescue, an animal welfare group based in New York. A team of rescuers came and persuaded Lola’s owner to abandon her.
After everything Lola had been through, no one could blame her for being mean or violent towards others. Lola, on the other hand, was kind and adorable, and couldn’t help but wag her tail when the rescue team discovered her.
”We nicknamed her ‘wavy butt,'” AMA volunteer Michele Walsh told the Dodo. “She was wagging her pretty little tail, incredibly sociable, kissing everyone and was delighted to see her rescuers.”They went straight out with her once she let them take her off the chain.”
The team’s first priority was to get Lola to Animal Kind Veterinary Hospital, where she had some tumors surgically removed. Lola was then placed in foster care for a few months before being adopted by Charlène von Saher from Manhattan.
Lola has been with von Saher for seven weeks, although it only took her a few days to settle down and rest.
”She found out where her little beds were, as well as what was soft and comfortable for her,” von Saher told the Dodo.
Lola will also rearrange things to make herself more comfortable, according to von Saher.
”She removed a cushion from my bed and put it in her dog’s bed,” von Saher said. “When I got home, she had her head on it – she had basically made a mini-bed for herself in her bed with my pillow.”It was like a scene from “The Princess with the Pea” – I guess she liked to have many pillows under her.”
Lola has even been seen lying on two dog beds, according to von Saher…

”I went out for a while, and when I came back, Lola had lifted the small bed above the larger bed and climbed on it,” von Saher said. “It was hilarious. When I walked in, I couldn’t believe it.”
Lola also loves the sun, which she most likely experienced when she was tied up in the dark garage.
One thing is for sure: Lola taught von Saher the value of unfolding. Von Saher liked to see Lola become a spoiled and happy dog.
“I think she’s improving day by day,” von Saher remarked. “They often say that when you adopt a dog, you really save two.”That’s because you take one and make room for another dog to enter the shelter or rescue organization.”
”I admire him,” von Saher said. “She has already brought so much to my life.”
